Keyboard Shortcuts¶

Essential keyboard shortcuts for the MapBoot Editor.

General¶

Shortcut	Action
Cmd/Ctrl + S	Save current changes
Cmd/Ctrl + Z	Undo last action
Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + Z	Redo (if available)
Delete / Backspace	Delete selected geometry
Esc	Cancel current action / Deselect

Shortcut	Action
Cmd/Alt + Drag	Pan the viewport
Scroll Wheel	Zoom in/out
Cmd/Alt + Scroll	Rotate view (if available)

Mouse-Free Panning

Hold Cmd (Mac) or Alt (Windows/Linux) and drag anywhere on the viewport to pan.

Selection¶

Shortcut	Action
Click	Select single item
Ctrl/Cmd + Click	Multi-select (add to selection)
Drag	Rectangle selection (when selection tool active)
Shift + Click	Select range (if applicable)

Drawing¶

Shortcut	Action
Click	Place point
Esc	Finish current line/shape
Enter	Confirm action (context-dependent)

Editing¶

Shortcut	Action
Drag Point	Move single point
Drag Selection	Move entire selection
Delete	Remove selected geometry

Tools¶

Access tools via toolbar buttons. Check your specific MapBoot version for tool-specific shortcuts (may vary).

Common tool modes: - Point Tool — Place single points - Line Tool — Draw lines - Selection Tool — Select geometry

Tips¶

Enable Snap for Precision - Snap to Grid ensures clean, aligned geometry - Enable via toolbar toggle

Multi-Select for Bulk Actions - Select multiple lines → Apply style to all - Select polygon loop → Create surface

Save Frequently - Use Cmd/Ctrl + S regularly - Especially before major changes or testing

Mac vs. Windows/Linux¶

Not Available (But Useful to Know)¶

These shortcuts are not currently in MapBoot:

❌ Cmd/Ctrl + C / V (Copy/Paste) — Use mouse drag or toolbar
❌ Cmd/Ctrl + A (Select All)
❌ Cmd/Ctrl + F (Find/Search)
❌ Cmd/Ctrl + D (Duplicate)
